Virax, the well known French manufacturer of pipe tools and equipment, has appointed Monument Tools Ltd to be their distributor in the UK. John Collier, Chairman of Monument Tools, stated that “this link between two very well known manufacturers will enhance Monument’s range of products as well as allow Virax to penetrate the UK market using Monument’s experience. Both companies make high quality pipe tools and will allow distributors to source a complete range from one distribution point.”
The range of products is on show on February 6th for the first time at Totally Tools at the NEC, Stand A10. The Virax Export Manager, Bertrand Causse, will be in attendance at the show. “We are very pleased with this new distribution opportunity with Monument as they have vast experience of the UK pipe tools market and with their enthusiasm we feel it will be very beneficial to both Companies”

10/10/2010 Record Power Copper and Conduit Bending Machines
Monument Tools are now distributing the new range of Record Power bending machines. These machines are made in England and offer superior UK manufacturing standards, increased value for money over other leading brands and full spares compatibility with a wide range of existing machines in the marketplace.
The machines are designed to bend conduit, copper and steel to EN and BS standards. Although they are traditional in design, ensuring continued familiarity with users, they all feature a number of exclusive improvements to increase functionality, ease of use and productivity. The range includes a dedicated conduit bending machine, a dedicated copper bending machine and a universal machine that bends both conduit and copper.
Improved features include a vice mount with universal slots to take a range of vices and enabling the vice to be mounted clear of the vice plate to improve access when threading. Additional holes in the vice plate allow quick tweaking of bends. Formers are precision machined for accuracy rather than the die-castings found on inferior imported machines. A useful wheelkit is now available as an option to make transport around the site safer and easier.

10/06/2010 Monument Autocut Small Bore Pipe Cutters
Monument Tools investment in CNC and CAD-CAM equipment has led to yet another series of new products for the plumbing and heating and refrigeration and AC markets. New sizes have been added for 6, 8 and 10mm OD as well as imperial sizes for copper pipes. These are made with aluminium bodies and are very tactile and of high quality, typical of Monument’s strategy of designing and making products in their own UK factory in Surrey. These additions bring the total to 26 pipe cutters of different sizes and types made by Monument to satisfy the various markets of the world. Each tool in this new series is only 38mm outside diameter allowing use in confined spaces. Cutter wheels, rollers and springs are heat treated correctly.

It can be difficult to undo nuts installed a long time ago which are very tight and this new tool from Monument Tools will release difficult to undo basin and bath nut taps in situ and also reduce the amount of time taken to install a basin or bath tap. The tool ensures that the socket is engaged squarely on the back nut and will not slip off because the socket is attached, via a threaded locator inside the socket, to the threaded tap stem. An extension fitted with a guiding sleeve makes it easy to join the components together under a basin or bath. The tool can be hand operated or, when newly assembling taps, can be driven by an electric drill using the separate driver supplied. A variety of sockets is available to suit different sizes of nuts. Smaller sets are supplied in point of sale hang up sleeves or the larger sets are in a plastic tool box. Made in England by Monument Tools Ltd.

TracPipe stainless steel semi-rigid gas pipe is quickly becoming the recognized alternative to traditional rigid copper or steel, installed between meter and appliance. TracPipe is relatively new to Europe but has a 30 year proven history of installation in Japan. Additionally it has now captured more than 35% of the US gas pipe market. Working closely with Omegaflex Ltd, Monument Tools have developed a wheel specifically to cut this new generation of gas pipe. Fitted to the evergreen 2A tube cutter body, the installer now has a new weapon in his armoury. The TracPipe cutter has the re-order code 295Q and is available from nationwide distributors and mail order.

Copperkey is the latest innovative product to be released by Monument Tools. There are two sizes of Copperkey designed to handle the preparation of both 15 and 22mm copper pipes and fittings. The durable abrasive technology associated with the pipe cleaning brush on one end of the tool is new and is designed to last longer than hitherto. The ratchet handle makes the job easier in tight spaces. In use the tool is twisted in a clockwise direction on to the pipe or inside a fitting. The ratchet handle is turned in a clockwise direction until the cleaning is complete. Remove the tool in the same clockwise direction.
